When you're living at home as a youngster, you never think about household items. It's kind of taken for granted that everyone has a toaster, a couch, towels, and a bed. I think I had the same twin bed for most of my life until I moved out of my parents' house. It was a drab wooden headboard with a mushy mattress, but it did its job. I don't recall having a bad night's sleep because of the actual bed. Usually I was awakened by nightmares about school tests or dreaming about my boyfriend or worrying that the howling of the coyotes meant they were on their way to break in and eat my family. When I went away to college, the dorm rooms had pretty nice sleeping quarters. My mom got me some soft sheets and a beautiful comforter (which I still have.)
Since I've recently graduated, I got an apartment with a couple of roommates. That's when I realized I kind of had nothing. I do a lot of online shopping because I usually can find better deals. I also don't have much time to shop because I am either working, looking for more work and also don't want to spend on gas. AshleyFurniture.com has very cute headboards at great prices. Some are too girly, but the one I like best is available. The problem is that their mattresses are only sold in stores. I guess they want you to try them out, but that doesn't help me.
