About Ecco:
I used to be an avid runner. Running 30 miles a week was the norm. Eventually, as most jarring type movement does, it started wearing on my joints, bones, muscles, you name it. I tried jogging, but that didn't feel right either. I did some speed walking for a while, but it felt so silly- I didn't get the same thrill. About a year ago, I joined a local hiking group. I absolutely love it. Some hikes can be strenuous, but I'm using different parts of my body, and my knees aren't suffering from impact.
Anyway, I needed to get a good pair of shoes. I'd been searching for a while and finally one of the other hikers in my group suggested Ecco.com. There were so many choices, I didn't know which to focus on. The thing I loved right away was that the boots were attractive. Just because something is made to be comfortable doesn't mean it has to be ugly.
The site was super detailed. I could click on a shoe, then click again and get a complete description. Then I could get the choices of colors and sizes. I could not decipher, however, the cost of anything.
As I scoured the site, I realized the company was in Denmark. I was very disappointed that I couldn't find a store (on their site) that sold some of these shoes in America. I suppose I could call email a store in London, but I'm sure the shipping would be prohibitive.
