I have a friend who used to get dressed up every day. I don't mean like a formal gown. I'm more referring to wearing high-end fashionable clothing, blow-drying her hair, applying make-up, and accessorizing with earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet or watch. I used to try and imitate her fashion sense except that I was never that good at it. My hair never curled properly and I didn't own enough jewelry, costume or real, to really pull it off. It didn't bother me because I knew that any effort I put in was better than none.
Cut to: a decade later, that same friend has had two children and gained quite a bit of weight. She seems to care far less about her appearance overall. She rarely-to-never wears make-up. If there's anything I cannot do without, it's make-up. I love the natural look, but not on me. My girlfriend always bought Lancome or Giorgio Armani beauty products. Although she and I no longer go to the mall and shop together, we still go online once in a while and peruse the sites. GiorgioArmaniBeauty.com has gorgeous skin care and make-up products. I especially love their waterproof items, like the eyeliner and mascara. Of course, my biggest complaint is the prices. I am not comfortable paying more than my hourly wage for a lipstick. Even the gift sets are too expensive. I realize the products are high quality, but compared to other similar products in a lesser-price range, they aren't that superior.
