I grew up in a household that forbade any of to drive a motorcycle. My mother said they were death traps. Of course it can be dangerous to be a passenger on a motorcycle, especially in a city, but not everyone who rides one, dies. I learned that when I met my second husband, Jeff.
Jeff's been riding since he was a teenager. He used to race, but for the past 20 years, he rides for pleasure. On Sundays, he likes to go with a group of friends and they ride up the coast and then have lunch together. I've ridden with him a couple of times and really enjoyed myself. It's not "my thing", but I can appreciate his love of riding.
This year for his birthday I bought him a gift card to JPCycles.com. This is an awesome website that sells just about anything bike related, especially aftermarket parts. I figure he can peruse the site and pick out whatever he wants.
I did, however, buy him a belt that I saw on the site. It was nice leather and a great price. And I also bought myself a little something. I got a cool pair of stainless steel earring that look like a bike chain. I think Jeff will like them on me.
Everything about the site, including my ability to purchase the gift card went smoothly. The only thing I'm not crazy about is if Jeff loses the card, we're out of luck. It would be nice if JPCycles could keep a record of the card and how it was purchased, etc. just in case. I guess I'll just make him keep the card at home with me.
