When I went over to mom and dad's a couple of weeks ago, they were looking at some brochures. When I asked them what they were, they said they were burial plot options. I really have never given a lot of thought on how they want to be taken care of after they die. I'm not sure if I assumed they wanted to be cremated or if maybe, I have just never thought of them really dying. I know all my grandparents are buried in cemeteries. My grandma and grandpa on my dad's side had two spaces reserved (and I guess, paid for) next to each other, side by side, in the local cemetery. I'm not sure if they have headstones. I would imagine so. It seems like an awful lot of money-paying for a funeral, a casket, a headstone. I don't know. Anyway, I let my parents show me places they liked for their after-life, and just nodded while they turned the pages. When I got home that day, I started looking at cremation information. Maybe I'll start figuring out what I want for when my time comes. One site, PerfectMemorials.com, had some really cool urns. There was one I know my husband would love; it's in the shape of a motorcycle. I did not like the jewelry that holds ashes-I thought it was creepy. And I felt sad looking at the teddy bear urn for a child. It's a strange site, but maybe it's because I'm uncomfortable with death.
