About Biblio:
I used to work with a gentleman at a publishing company I was employed with years back. When I address him as a gentleman, I'm not using the term because it's polite-he truly embodied the essence of a man who was mannered, couth, and knew what it meant to be truly gallant. Mr. Parks was knowledgeable, well read, and had an old-fashioned sensibility when it came to collecting. He loved old books. He actually loved all books, but he had an affinity for literature from the turn of last century as well as those from many centuries ago and collected as many relics as he could. I don't know if I've ever met anyone else quite so dedicated to books of yore. He also loved autographed letters and pieces from famous writers. It was a treat to join him when he would invite me to an antiquarian house to peruse the multitude of collectibles. I, too, have since become obsessed and fascinated with the history of certain authors and various written works of art. Online, I've been able to access some bodies of work on Biblio.com. The thing I like about Biblio is that it helps explain to me what's so important about each collectible-for example, is the signature authentic? I would never thought to question such a thing. Authenticity is this site's specialty, and that excites me. I know I'm getting value. I'd like it if the site had less expensive letters or documents to add to my collection.
